Renaissance Pawtraits at Solar dos Zagallos

I am thrilled to invite you to my latest exhibition, Renaissance Pawtraits, where I bring together my love for fine art and animal portraiture. This series transforms beloved pets into noble figures straight out of the Renaissance era, capturing their dignity, charm, and timeless presence. With carefully composed portraits, rich period attire, and masterfully recreated classical settings, I want to give these animals the royal treatment they deserve.
But Renaissance Pawtraits is more than just an artistic project—it’s a way to give back. I have partnered with Provedor Municipal dos Animais de Almada to support animal welfare, and a portion of all proceeds from artwork sales will go directly to @CanilMunicipalAlmada. By purchasing a piece, you’re not just collecting unique artwork—you’re also helping shelter animals find loving homes and receive the care they need.
Art with a Purpose: Supporting Animal Welfare
Beyond celebrating pets in artistic grandeur, Renaissance Pawtraits serves as a platform to advocate for shelter animals. I believe in using art as a force for good, and through this exhibition, I hope to encourage responsible pet adoption while also providing crucial funding for homeless and abandoned animals in Almada.
For every artwork purchased, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Almada Municipal Animal Shelter, helping to provide food, medical care, and better living conditions for animals in need. My goal is to ensure that when you take home a piece from this collection, you’re also making a real difference in the lives of animals waiting for their forever homes.
Held at the historic Solar dos Zagallos, a stunning 17th-century palace in Almada, this exhibition will transport you into a world where pets are honored as the nobility they truly are. Each portrait is carefully crafted, with subjects dressed in elaborate period attire and framed in beautifully ornate vintage and antique-style frames that enhance their timeless appeal.
From majestic hounds to valiant steeds, every portrait tells a story of loyalty, companionship, and the deep connection we share with our four-legged friends.
Save the Date – March 15: Opening Day Celebration
The official opening on March 15 will be a special evening where we celebrate art, animals, and community. You’ll have the chance to experience the collection up close, meet me in person, and learn more about the work being done to support Almada’s animal welfare organizations.
There will also be special adoption initiatives during the exhibition, with select days dedicated to showcasing adoptable animals from the municipal shelter. You might even find your next furry best friend while enjoying the artwork!
