During the past decade, Px3 has become one of the most prestigious photography awards in Europe. Recieveing an email saying that I won a silver award this year is a great honour for me as a photographer.

UP Magazine Cover 127 Mozambique

UP Mozambique Joao Carlos 

I have been contributing to UP Magazineover the last five years or maybe more. For quite a time I was searching for the opportunity to shoot a cover for them. Finally the moment has come and it is super exciting.

The cover is dedicated to 25th of May, the day of Africa. They chose the country of Mozambique to be the main focus point of the issue.

UP Magazine Cover 128 Madrid

UP128 

One month has passed after my first cover of UP Magazine was published. I am proud that I had the opportunity to shoot another cover for the magazine. 

This issue is dedicated to Madrid the capital city of Spain. To represent it, it was chosen the painting Guernica, created by PabloPicasso in on April 26th, 1937. The make up artist Sara Menitra had to recreate parts of the painting over the model’s skin, and she did a flawless job. It was great working with her as always.
