Exhibition Opening: Stages of Isolation and Depression – A Special Moment in My Hometown
This past Saturday marked a significant milestone for me with the opening of my exhibition Stages of Isolation and Depression in Caldas da Rainha. It was an incredible experience, filled with emotion and gratitude. This was the first time I’ve had the honor of showing my work in my hometown, which made it all the more special. Surrounded by close friends and family, including my parents, it felt like a homecoming.
Maria da Conceição officially opened the exhibition, the Vereadora da Cultura, whose kind words about my work were deeply touching. Her support and the local community’s presence made the event unforgettable.
I hope you enjoy the pictures from the exhibition. Each photograph in this series reflects the emotions we all felt during the pandemic: isolation, fear, depression, but also acceptance and adaptation. The pieces are meant to evoke a sense of shared experience and emotional connection, which I hope resonates with everyone who visits the exhibition.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support me on this journey. The exhibition will be on display at Espaço Turismo, Caldas da Rainha, until October 31st, 2024. Don’t miss the chance to see these works in person!
big thanks to My intern Rodrigo Eloi for the captures
