Seminar Overview

This is a one day event that provides an introduction to creative concepts and inspiration from my perspective. I will share my experience and my thoughts about fashion, beauty and photography in general through an illustrated talk that will consist of an image showcase, a discussion on some of the key concepts and a practical demonstration of my approach to creative image making.

The Event will include:

Illustrated talk

A show and tell of my work for magazines and fashion designers around the world. The story behind each image will be explored including the intention and how it was expressed in the final image.

• What is Fashion?
• Conceptualizing & Planning a Fashion Shoot.
• Casting your shoot.
• Working with your Creative Team and expressing your concept to the team.

Demonstration

As part of this one day seminar I will provide a show and tell demonstration of my approach to working with a live model. Creative Image Studios will also be offering a separate three day workshop with me from March 12-14 inclusive. The workshop will include the “hands on” opportunity to learn from me.

Objectives

This workshop will take you step by step to the creation of a successful Fashion and Beauty Editorial. This workshop covers but is not limited to:

• Pre-shoot briefing
• Stylists
• Model Casting
• Make-up and Hair
• Preparations
• Art Direction
• Model Direction
• Post Shoot and Processing

Day One :: Fashion in Studio

This day will include:

Review of Introductory Event

• creative concepts and inspiration
• what is fashion
• conceptualizing & planning a fashion shoot
• casting your shoot
• working with your Creative Team and expressing your concept to the team.

Portfolio review

Joao will review participants portfolio to help identify areas to concentrate on.

Maximum of 20 images each suitable for a data projector.
