Blackrapid RS-5 at the races

Tazio wins 1 st place , I win because I chose the RS-5

This is my follow up to my last post about the amazing folks over at BlackRapid and their great products. I will share my thoughts and insights on another one of my favorite tools, the RS-5R Strap. Last weekend I got a chance to take it out for a road test in New Jersey. I sponsor my amazing nephew Tazio and his go Karting team and since this is one of my favorite things to do, it was awesome to go out and spend time with my family, take pictures and get down and greasy. Tazio has been racing karts since he was six, but he has been racing at a national level for two years, whilst also competing in his club series. You can read more about the speed demon himself on his blog. Link.
The race track was the perfect setting to test the RS-5, as having quick access to my camera and easy mobility is essential for capturing those millisecond moments that literally fly by on a race track.

The RS-5 is a great companion for anyone who requires extra storage, like extra CF cards or batteries or even a smart phone. There are zippered pockets for added security and a magnetic clasp opens silently for noise-sensitive situations.

This is how i received my R -strap , I think even the packaging is awesome , its environmentally friendly. You can then re use the bag .
The RS-5 holds a bunch of CF cards (about 12), my iPhone, headphones, business cards and lens cleaner. There is still plenty of room for credit cards and other miscellaneous objects.
Me in action, thanks to my assistant Dario for taking the pictures.I am shooting with the 70-200 2.8 which is a big and bulky lens. One advantage to utilizing a camera strap is that it takes all the weight off my neck and upper back.

Dario my assistant rocking my Samsung NX 100 and the Snap R bag by Blackrapid. My iPhone fits nice and snug in the side compartment.
Here is a selection of some images from the weekend, Tazio making his own path…
